ASK YOUR CREATIVE SELF…

Do you ask enough questions or do you settle for what you know?

Keep a curious and open mind with all that comes your way. Ask•ask•ask and don’t be afraid to question.

What’s a belief that you hold with which many people disagree?

The decisions we make and opportunities we take are what create our lives. Ask yourself why you hold specific perceptions, thoughts and understandings.

What is the difference between living and existing?

Could it be that existing is allowing the events in life to control you? Could it be that living is taking autonomous decisions to place yourself in situations where you can ‘be’ and feel fulfilled? If so, does the art of being creative allow one to live to their fullest self?

If not now, then when?

What are you waiting for to take that action? Why have you left it a week before you pick up the paintbrush, or book on your shelf. Why are you waiting to spill your thoughts onto the page and relish in your creative self?

What does your joy look like today?

Take notice of the small things. The pattern of a flower petal or a smile you shared with someone. Beauty, complexity and simplicity don’t sit that far apart.

Which activities make you lose track of time?

Take a breath. Observe and become aware of the activities where you loose the pattern of overthinking or being worrisome. Embrace the time where you can loose responsibilities and daily pressures. Whatever task it may be, dive into your creative streaks!

If you had to teach something, what would you teach?

We teach things where we feel most confident. As Einstein says, if you can't explain it simplyyou don't understand it well enough. We teach things to people with a blank canvas. Paining the colours of new ideas and projects that will contribute to shaping the world. When you learn a new piece of information or come across a new concept, ask yourself, could I teach this? Could I repeat this?

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

When we are creative we fall back into the childish state of curiosity. We allow our minds and attention to become lost into newborn states of creation. Apply this idea to your energy levels in day to day interactions. How old do you feel? How old do others perceive you? Are you inquisitive and playful, becoming your creative self in conversation, or is it just on the canvas?

What’s something you know you do differently than most people?

An outlook. A political dispute? A mathematical root? The angle of holding a camera or the direction to point your toe on the dance floor? At The Creativity Conference we encourage you to take the unique skills and question where the essence of creativity lies within them.
