Ellen Zaks
Multidisciplinary Artist
Born in London, Ellen Zaks is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, poetry, and narrative fiction. With a lifelong background in ballet, including performances with London Theatre Ballet, movement and the human form have become central to her visual language. She identifies as a figurative artist, drawing deep inspiration from the body as both subject and storyteller.
Ellen has exhibited her work in New York, across the UK, and throughout Europe. Her creative journey reflects a restless and exploratory spirit, continuously crossing disciplines and forms. After completing a degree in Expressive Arts (art and dance) in Brighton, she spent four years creating and performing multidisciplinary works at the Brighton Arts Festival, combining poetry and dance in immersive live performances.
Her poetry has been widely published in magazines and anthologies, and she is the author of two collections, Outcries and What Binds Us. More recently, Ellen has expanded into prose with The Tinder Tales, a series of short stories inspired by encounters through the Tinder app—works noted for their blend of the romantic, surreal, humorous, and poetic.
Currently based in the south of Spain, Ellen is developing a new series of paintings inspired by her poetry, while completing her forthcoming two-part novel, Into Me and Into You. Semi-autobiographical in nature, the work explores transformation, relocation, and identity, infused with esoteric and surreal elements.
