Simone Pero is an Emmy-nominated film producer, public speaker, university professor and former nonprofit board president and corporate media executive. Today, Pero advises creatives of all mediums through her signature Artists for Impact ™ program.
Pero’s producing portfolio includes acclaimed films LILLY starring Patricia Clarkson distributed by Netflix and Blue Harbor Entertainment, Academy Award nominated (Best Original Song) VIVA VERDI!, the Emmy nominated Sundance hit film THE TALE starring Laura Dern distributed worldwide by HBO Films and The New York Times Critics Pick THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING with Geena Davis, Meryl Streep and Shonda Rimes. Pero also consulted on The 2025 Humanitas Prize Winner VOW OF SILENCE: THE ASSASSINATION OF ANNIE MAE by Yvonne Russo and STEAL THIS STORY, PLEASE! with Amy Goodman.
Pero is on faculty with the Stony Brook University Killer Films MFA in Film & TV Writing and serves on the President’s Council of New York Women in Film & Television. She is a former corporate executive at MTV, Rainbow Media/Cablevision (now AMC Networks), and the Taproot Foundation. Pero began her career in public policy with the U.S. Federal Government and Clinton/Gore ‘96 campaign.
